In keeping with the film’s lighthearted tone, Vaughn decided to dress Henry Cavill as Argylle in a green velvet suit with a flattop haircut—an unusual look for a spy, but one the director insisted on. Cavill admitted in a recent interview that the look was absolutely, 100 percent Matthew Vaughn’s idea.Henry Cavill only accepted his Argylle look once Vaughn asked the actor to trust him. Cavill has since admitted that the look was what he was “looking for” for the character and that he’s glad he listened to Vaughn.
