It’s been nearly two years since John Travolta put his Maine property on the market, but he’s had no success selling it. Still, the actor is refusing to lower the $5 million price tag.

The Grease alum first listed the property in February 2020, seven months after the death of his wife Kelly Preston. He originally listed it for $5 million and has refused to budge on the price, despite little interest.

With over 10,800 square feet of living space, the home comes with 22 bedrooms (and 42 rooms in total). It sits on 50 acres of land. The cottage-style home was built in 1903.

The home features English antique furniture, a hotel-sized furnace, a walk-in refrigerator, a built-in bar area, and a dock with private boat access. It also features ocean views as well as a variety of walking paths and garden areas.

The entire third floor of the home is a magical play space complete with four separate themed bedrooms and a full bathroom, a school house, a library, a diner, and a performing stage for endless entertainment,” the initial listing said.

John and Kelly bought the property in 1997, and immediately delved into renovations.

“And John and I came in and redid everything—carpets, furniture—in cream and eggshell. If you need to do it quickly,” Kelly told Architectural Digest in 1999.

John’s co-star and friend Kristie Alley was the one to first introduce them to the property. John admits they fell in love with it right away.

“Kirstie had a big Kennedy-compound-style house on the water,” he said “And wanted everyone to move there. So, we looked at all these blue-blood homes. I loved them but knew they wouldn't cut it size-wise for my whole family. She said, ‘Well, there is another,’ and we came to this house. When I saw it, I said to Kirstie, ‘Why did you with hold this? It's a fairy-tale house.’”

Kelly echoed a similar sentiment, saying, “The moment we drove up under that wonderful natural tunnel of trees covering the driveway, I said, ‘This is it.’”

John may be hoping to let go of this property sooner than later, but he has a number of other homes to his name. This includes a waterfront property in Clearwater, Florida and a luxury mansion in Brentwood, California.
